Resorts Atlantic City Opens Internet Gaming Lounge & Online Casino
Both the live casino industry and the online gambling industry in New Jersey fell well below expecting during 2014. The online poker market was a big disappointment for New Jersey as the state had only recently legalized online poker and expected a huge response from online poker players in the garden state.
The initial response was poor and online poker traffic continued to diminish with every passing month, making it difficult for online gambling establishments to survive. Ultimate Poker and Betfair were forced to shutdown their online poker websites in 2014 and exit the New Jersey market.
Things have approved in 2015 and online poker traffic has slowly started to increase in New Jersey. The Resorts casino and hotel has decided that this is the right time for them to launch an online casino in Atlantic City and have decided to open out an innovative and custom designed lounge that will promote online gambling exclusively. The lounge is known as the Resorts iGaming Lounge and can accommodate up to 100 online gamblers at a time. The online casino lounge offers players a number of casino games and a comfortable environment in which to play them.
In a statement, Resorts CEO and president Mark Giannantonio said
We have tables that have our online gaming platform built right into them, so what you can do on your computer at home or what you can do on your tablet you can do right on various tables throughout the iGaming Lounge. I think it means that Atlantic City is very serious contender when it comes to gaming. We’ve had kind of a tumultuous period with foreclosures (in the city). That’s behind us now. I think that beautiful thing about Atlantic City is we have scalability.
The Resorts team have spent a lot of time developing and testing a series of online casino games and software to ensure that it was well received and appreciated by the end user. The casino went through a long period of beta testing where it invited a number of online gamblers to signup and try its online casino games for free in exchange for honest feedback. The development team capture the end users feedback and then went addressed all the bugs, issues and complaints raised by the beta-testers.
Now that the end product is finally ready, the Resorts casino has decided to launch and promote its Resorts iGaming Lounge and innovative online casino games.
