Chicago’s Ameristar Casino Opens A Sports Bar That Cost $3.5 Million
Casinos across the world are now being constructed on a mega-scale costing gambling enterprises billions of dollars. The Las Vegas Sands Corp recently announced that it had plans to construct a $6.5 billion casino in the city of Busan, South Korea. The Las Vegas strip features a number of billion dollar casinos that have been built by companies such as the Wynn Resorts, Las Vegas Sands and Caesars Entertainment.
Casinos spend lavish amounts of money to create plush resorts, shopping malls, sports bars and high end restaurants in an effort to constantly attract people who will then be tempted to play at their casinos.
Ameristar Casino in Chicago may not be a mega casino but the management has invested heavily into a new Stadium Sports Bar and Grill that cost them close to $3.5 million.
The new bar recently opened to the public and was quickly filled with Cubs baseball fans who wanted a chance to meet Cubs legend and Hall of Famer Andre Dawson. The bar sent out special invitations to die hard Cubs fans and they were delighted to receive a personal invite and get a chance to meet some of their Cub heroes.
Pinnacle Entertainment Inc is the company that owns Ameristar Casino and has now opened a total of four Stadium Sports Bar and Grills within its casino chain. The new Stadium Sports Bar and Grill has a lot of space and comes with 40 flat screen televisions that cover a number of different sports in order to provide variety to its patrons; a state of the art audiovisual system that has a sports ticker, 50 craft beers and 21 draft beers. The Ameristar Casino in Chicago currently employs around 1300 workers and the new bar has created an additional 55 jobs.
In a statement, Matt Schuffert, general manager and vice president of Ameristar in East Chicago said
I think this will take us to the next level. It will be the place to go for a sports bar in Northwest Indiana
A number of senior executives from Pinnacle Entertainment, local celebrities and East Chicago Mayor Anthony Copeland were present for the opening of the sports bar. Andre Dawson provided the honors of a ceremonial first catch which was followed by the “Star Spangled Banner” which Chicago Blackhawks singer Jim Cornelison and White Sox legend Carlton Fisk sang to the delight of the fans.
