Yellow Brick Road Casino Job Fair Proves To Be A Big Success
The Yellow Brick Road Casino in Chittenango organized a job fair in the month of March as the casino has to fill over two hundred and fifty positions during the next couple of months. The casino is expected to open its doors this June and is on an aggressive hiring spree. The job fair proved to be a big success as over 600 people attended the fair and sent in their applications to work at the casino.
These applications are currently under process and those individuals who have been shortlisted will be called for another round of interviews. The Yellow Brick Road Casino is hiring for a number of positions including bingo attendants, slot attendants, cashiers, cooks, supervisors, managers, dealers and bartenders.
The casino is being constructed by the Oneida Nation at an estimated cost over around $20 million. The casino is being constructed on 67,000 square feet and will house a 500 seat bingo hall, 436 slot machines, a country & western bar, two casual dining restaurants and an OZ General store that will sell a number of items such as pre-packaged food, bingo supplies, tobacco and beverages.
The Oneida Nation is looking to hire locals to fill all these positions as it wants to start giving back to the community. The country & western bar will feature live music and give local talent the first preference of performing. The job fair has attracted a significant number of locals and if shortlisted, they will be given extensive training by the casino to ensure they have the necessary skills to work and perform at the casino.
The casino is still accepting applications and encourages individuals wanting to work at the casino to apply online at the yellowbrickroadcasino.com or visit the main Oneida Nation employment office in person and submit their application. The Oneida Nation employment office is located at Dream Catcher Plaza in Oneida. The Yellow Brick Road Casino has also opened an employment office at the casino site to make it easy for interested candidates to apply.
Chittenango village officials are pushing for a traffic light to be installed at the entrance of the casino but a final decision is yet to be made. Casino officials have also confirmed that there will be ‘no smoking’ inside the casino to make it as environmentally friendly as possible. A strict admission policy will be followed at all times to ensure that only adults are permitted into the casino.
