Canadian Casino Tycoon Caught On Tape Plotting Murder
Francesco Carbone is a wealthy casino businessman and also part owner of a large chain of casinos in the Caribbean and Dominican Republic. The 47 year old Carbone owns the casino chain along with his younger brother Antonio Carbone (39 years) and their business partner Andrew Pajak (62 years old).
The Carbones and Pajak decided to open out a chain of casinos in the Caribbean and the Dominican Republic as they wanted to take full advantage of the lucrative gambling industry in South America and dreamed of creating a Fortune 500 company that could rival casino groups in Las Vegas.
They put together a strong proposal and managed to convince Canadian billionaire Michael G. DeGroote to finance their venture. They started their venture in 2010 and since then have done reasonably well.
Canadian authorities have been keeping tabs on the Carbones and their businesses ventures as they have been known to have times with the mob. The Carbones have had previous encounters with the police when they were arrested for having hand guns that had no registration. One of the guns had the serial number filed off, raising a lot of suspicion about their activities.
The Globe and Mail and CBC News recently obtained an audio recording obtained via a string which reveals a hit being put out by Francesco Carbone on his business partner Andrew Pajak.
Carbone is reported to be talking with Sasha Visser, a dangerous and convicted con man. During the recording Visser says Can we whack him in the Dominican? to which Carbone replies in the negative. Visser then asks “We can’t kill him in the Dominican?” and Carbone immediately says “Kidding me, bro? Here it’s a regular f—ing builder, big f—ing deal. Over there, it’s the president of Dream Corporation.
The recording is reported to have happened in 2013 at a bakery on Rutherford Road in Vaughan.
This was during the time when a nasty spat was taking place over the Dream Group which is a chain of casinos, betting parlous, sports and lottery kiosks. The spat had a lot of interference with the underworld as a number of the Dream Group owners were reported to have times with the mob.
Francesco Carbone denies the authenticity of the tape and says it is a recording that was ‘spliced and cut’. CBC News confirms that it had a forensic expert review the tape and he confirms there is no evidence of tampering. Andrew Pajak declined to comment over the tape and the alleged threats made against him.
