Del Lago Casino, NY Revenue Crosses $36 Million In First Six Days

The recently-opened del Lago Resort & Casino in New York has stated that over $36 million was spent by patrons at its premises in the first six days of operation in a filing made by the casino with state regulatory body.

The casino which had a soft launch on Jan 31 has 2,001 slot machines and 77 table games. Much of the revenue has come from these slot machines. From Jan. 31 through Feb. 5, the new casino saw earnings of $32,921,546 from slot machines with the average daily payout being $252. Around $3,736,444 was gained from table games. Revenue from poker tables hasn’t been provided so far.

According to gaming regulations in the state, del Lago casino will be taxed at the rate of 37 percent on its slot revenues and 10 percent for table games. The revenue will be shared with Seneca County, where the casino is located as well as with other neighbouring counties.

Jeff Babinski, del Lago's executive vice president and general manager said that the first week was busy with several coming in to check out the new facility. Apart from the gaming area, the restaurants also saw a lot of visitors. On Feb. 4, which was del Lago's first operational Saturday, the Farmer's Market Buffet served over 2,000 people. Babinski applauded the casino team for successfully managing the large crowds.

In a statement Babinski said

We have had an incredible first week in business and we are appreciative to everyone who has come out. We have had a steady flow of excited guests since we opened our doors. I can't say enough about the team and what they were able to accomplish over the last week

According to Babinski, around $800,000 was given out in jackpots, with the largest being $50,000. While the overall response from the patrons has been positive, the casino has received criticism with respect to its table games

The results of its first full week in operation from Feb. 6 to 12 are yet to be made available. It is expected that visitations and collections would have had a boost as a result of the opening of The Vine, del Lago's concert hall. The venue has hosted two concerts so far – the first one by British rock group Bad Company and another one by rapper Flo Rida.

An upscale restaurant Portico by celebrity chef Fabio Viviani is scheduled to open on Feb. 23. A luxury hotel with 205 rooms as well as a spa is also slated to open later this summer.
